Telehealth Clinical Research Suite

The Telehealth Clinical Research Suite supports clinical telehealth research and evaluation projects. It provides a networked simulated clinical care environment for training, conformance testing, evaluation, and showcasing of state-of-the-art technologies being used in healthcare.  It has narrow band, broadband, wireless, and Internet connectivity.  With videoconferencing capabilities, high-tech diagnostic equipment, and multimedia and scanning features, researchers and clinicians can share data, images, and diagnostic procedures.

Functionality:
A Tandberg Portable Medical Videoconferencing System is available for clinical needs, which has operates on H.320 (ISDN) and IP protocol.  Peripheral devices are attached, such as teledermascope, teleophthalmascope, smart stethoscope, and an otoscope.

The room has a physicians office, reception/waiting area, patient education room, and examination room.

Examples of research foci:
Eating Disorders, Child Health, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Retinopathy, Respiratory, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Diabetes, Lupus, and HIV.
