Collaborative Research Suite
The Collaborative
Research Suite is an electronically equipped meeting room that provides
multimedia videoconferencing facilities and Internet connectivity for
provincial, national, and international partners to engage in
collaborative research activities, dissemination and discussions.

Functionality:
A 15-seat trapezoidal conference table has surface mounted microphones,
call buttons, and a laptop connection. In a group setting the call
buttons can direct the presenter camera to each individual. The
chairperson has a touch screen panel to initiate H.320, H.323 or MPEG-2
calls. This panel also shows the image that is being sent to the remote
location(s). In addition, two screens show the near and far-end images,
as well as views from remote controlled cameras.
A large projection screen is available for local presentations.
A podium houses a
document camera, local computer, laptop connection, and videocassette
recorder. This podium has an LCD computer screen and a microphone for
formal research presentations.
