A spectrum of equipment and communication and transmission standards are required in the Collaboratory to provide adequate flexibility, depth, and breadth of technical capability. This Technical Support Room houses all of the "behind-the-scenes"  equipment that provides the functionality required for all rooms in the Health Telematics Unit.   

Functionality:
This includes: Codecs, multiplexers, network terminators, Ethernet servers, converters, switches, a patch system, routers, a black generator, amplifier, monitors, central controller, power supply control system, links, and its own computer and monitor.

Examples of research foci:
All.

Technical Support is provided to the Health Telematics Unit by the technicians from Classroom Services, Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary.
